Immediately prior to founding Portico Wealth Advisors, David spent five years as a portfolio and client relationship manager at Fairview Capital Investment Management LLC.  David spearheaded the effort to integrate multi-asset class investing and comprehensive financial planning into the firm’s offering.  He also maintained responsibility for the investment vehicle selection and on-going analysis of all of the firm’s non-US individual equities.  During his tenure, assets grew from $350MM to a peak of $725MM in 2007.

In 1998, David accepted an entrepreneurial position as Director of Marketing and Business Development at a fledgling registered investment advisor (RIA), Quantum Capital Management.  He became a shareholder and corporate director within two years.  As a portfolio manager and director of client development, he was responsible for growing assets under management (AUM) roughly seven-fold, to $200MM, during his 5+ year tenure.

His investment career began in the mid 90’s, where he operated a division of an East Bay-based accounting and consultancy company.  Prior to that, David spent 6 years within the commercial and retail banking channels at Wells Fargo Bank.

David completed level I of the CFA program and is currently working toward his CFP® and AIF designations.  He graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Business Administration from Menlo College.  Both he and his wife, Amy, were raised in Marin.  They have three daughters and the family currently resides in San Anselmo, a community in which they are very active.
