Larkspur, CA—April 1, 2010—Portico Wealth Advisors, a comprehensive wealth management firm, officially opened its doors today. The firm is located in the Hospice Building, at 17 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd., which is across from the Golden Gate Ferry Terminal in Larkspur Landing.

Roughly a year in the making, Portico is the brainchild of principals David Tarantino, Jonathan Leidy CFP®, and Steven Borden. The firm’s mission is to be a premier provider of innovative, comprehensive wealth management solutions for individuals and retirement plan sponsors in the North Bay. And with over 70 years of combined experience, working at some of the finest local and national institutions, the firm appears well positioned to deliver.

For individuals, Portico offers a unique, risk-first approach, geared specifically to combat the volatility prevalent in today’s financial markets. “Over the past decade, investors have gotten a raw deal when it comes to financial services,” asserts Tarantino. “Portico was founded with the idea that we could provide better options for clients that ‘begin with the end in mind.’”

On the retirement plan side, Portico offers fiduciary oversight and ongoing investment management for employer-sponsored retirement plans, including 401k, 403b, 457b and non-qualified deferred compensation plans. “This market place is highly fragmented,” says Leidy, who ran the retirement plan consultancy division at another local advisor prior to forming Portico. “The difficult thing is getting enough transparency to determine what people currently have. If we can get that far, it’s almost always the case that we can help sponsors to improve their investment quality, level of service and cost structure.”

Portico will be open from 8-5PM Monday through Friday, and welcomes those with interest, to call or stop by.
